Ashley and Brent were married on the cusp of autumn in a September ceremony that took place at Mount Zion United Methodist Church in Canton Ohio. This day was a perfect for them to get married not only because it was gorgeous weather but also because it was National Hunting and Fishing day, so it was a seamless adaptation into their design. The combination of old southern elegance with laid back country charm made the festivities inviting and unforgettable.
The bride wore a classic Maggie Sottero gown and her bridesmaids dresses were from Jasmine. Their hair, makeup and nails were styled by The Beauty Avenue. Flowers for the day were provided by Kathy Cowgill Flowers. Ashley's breath taking rose gold morganite was created by Knight & Hammer jewelers, and the bands were from Anne Marie Jewelry. Brent and the groomsmen donned Tuxes from American Commodore.
During the message a beautiful passage from Corinthians was read. 1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak with human eloquence and angelic ecstasy but don’t love, I’m nothing but the creaking of a rusty gate. If I speak God’s Word with power, revealing all his mysteries and making everything plain as day, and if I have faith that says to a mountain, “Jump,” and it jumps, but I don’t love, I’m nothing. If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don’t love, I’ve gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I’m bankrupt without love.
A memorial candle was lit in memory of the bride's beautiful mother Vickey Lynn Johnson, who gave the world such a precious gift in her sweet, incredibly compassionate daughter Ashley. While Ashley and Brent lit the unity candle "One hand, One heart" from Westside Story played. The Recessional concluded with Mendelssohn's "The Wedding March".
Their reception followed at The Colonade Room with foliage, chandeliers, and tulle. The decor in the outdoor tents were illuminated with hundreds of tiny bulbs of light that lit the scene.
The cake was created by All Occasions Bakery which surprised the guests by showing both personalities of the bride and groom. One was of camouflage and a hunting theme and the other had a demure frosting of rose petals in pink. Atop the cake sat a tiny figurine of a groom, holding a rod with a ring attached, fishing for a bride. The cake was surrounded by tiny cupcakes of varying flavors, and the cake knife was made from deer antlers. Their sweetheart table was skirted with pink tulle and covered with rose petals deer antlers and gold tipped fluted champagne glasses. Every tiny detail illustrated the creative flair of Ashley from the canvas place cards pinned up with clothspins to the table decor that had fluted vases on cross cut sections of tree trunks. The sweet heart table even had antlers! They both love the outdoors so much! American Country shined at its best.
Dustin and I are thrilled for the both of you and can not wait to see what adventures lay ahead in your future.
